THE PROJECT
Quitralco Sanctuary
Located between the mountains and glaciers lies a conservation project, declared Nature Sanctuary. Here crystal-clear rivers flow and merge into a calm and protected sea.
This project spans over 20 hectares of ecological reserve and consists mostly of conservation units of approximately 3 hectares, situated along the sea shore with an abundance of springs and rivers, and various types of shores and beaches.
Take in the stunning views of water, rocks, and vegetation that are unique to Patagonia and at the reflections of these natural wonders.
This protected place is located near Aysén.
LOCATION
How can I get to Quitralco Sanctuary?
Quitralco Sanctuary is located in the Aysén Region, just 8 hours from Santiago de Chile by air, land and sea.
Coyhaique Airport
The Balmaceda airport is the main access by air to the Aysén Region.
Highway
From the airport, take Route 7 (Carretera Austral) heading north and then continue along Route CH 240 that leads to the sea, until you reach Puerto Aysén.
Navigation
Boats depart from Puerto Aysén and Puerto Chacabuco on route to the fjords.

The real attraction of the location lies in the pristine state of the fjord, which has been preserved over the years. This conservation project is centered around taking actions that have a positive impact on preserving the sanctuary. Our vision is to consciously enjoy these unique locations in Patagonia.
The forests within this sanctuary harbor around 50% of Chile's ancient tree species, along with a diverse range of birdlife including the Cuca heron, Chucao, Kingfisher, and various species of wild ducks.
The fjord waters are inhabited by orcas, whales, porpoises, and bottlenose dolphins that frolic around the islands, disrupting the peacefulness of the ocean.

San Rafael Laggon
Gigantic glacier linked to the sea by the Tempanos river. It measures approximately 15 kilometers long, 10 wide and 200 meters deep.

Queulat Hanging Snowdrift
Veiled water balance in the Queulat National Park. 16 kilometers south of Puyuhuapi
Marble Cathedrals
Also known as marble chapels. Composed of three calcareous formations surrounded by deep blue water.

Patagonian Scenic Route in the world. There are 1,247 kilometers of travel.
Kayak & Rafting
The immense masses of rivers, lakes and lagoons in the area allow water activities to be practiced.
